The beach

Polzeath

Friendly, high-tide beach break with a huge learner crowd and a surprisingly fun peak on a clean west swell.

Cornwall Council Polzeath Beach (PL27 6SS): 260 spaces, tide dependent, surface sand. 1 April–31 October 9am–6pm: £2.50 / £5.10 / £7.50 / £11.50, weekly £29; evening £2.30. Winter 9am–4pm: £1.30 / £2.50 / £5.50 / £7. The park itself floods on the tide.

Groms, families and learners. The school calls Polzeath one of the UK’s most consistent learner-friendly spots: long rolling waves and a wide sandy bay, with kids’ lessons prominent. Not a competitive-beach claim on their site.

The school: learner-friendly, long rolling waves, plenty of space. RNLI Polzeath is on the 2026 lists. The council car park is tide dependent, it is the access warning as much as a parking note.
