The beach

Crantock

Crantock sits on the Newquay run. Swell, wind and tide for this beach and the neighbours, so you can pick a peak before you leave the car park. Today is cloud, 16°, 2kt E.

Parking

National Trust Crantock Beach (TR8 5RN). Non-members £2.50 up to 1 hour, £5 up to 4 hours, £9 all day; NT members and Blue Badge free. Height barrier 2.1 m; open 9am–5pm Easter–October; closed overnight. The Trust says it can get extremely busy at peak times, if it is full, use an alternative private park.

Access & hazards

Met Office Crantock (Beach): high risk of rips. RNLI: River Gannel estuary, cliffs and rocks both sides, dunes behind. Rips around river mouths are a known RNLI hazard. 2026 patrols include Easter and daily 2 May–27 September, 10am–6pm.
