Most sites print the raw swell number and leave you to guess what it actually does on your beach. We score the break itself, wrap, wind against the beach, the tide window, because a big number in the wrong wind is still a bad day. We could be out by a foot. That's still more honest than a number that was never right for your beach in the first place.
The shops and shapers along this coast have been disappearing for years, one by one, while the beaches stay full. We'd rather send people through their doors than compete with them. The forecast stays free, always. If you want a hoody or a tee, that's a bonus, not the business.
