Cornwall Council Wheal Leisure (TR6 0EY, 145 spaces). 1 April–31 October: £2.50 / £5.10 / £7.50 / £11.50, weekly £29; evening £2.30. Winter: £1 / £1.80 / £3 / £4.20. The RNLI notes a large seafront car park.

Hire & lessons

Perranporth Surf School is the longest-established school on the beach, beginner-friendly from age 7, on the sand in summer. Stoked Surf School is in town at 7 Beach Road with beach hire.

Vibe

The RNLI calls it large and busy, surfers, snorkelers, bodyboarders, popular with families. The school runs family packages and first-timers. Space to walk the banks once the tide drops.

Met Office Perranporth Village (Beach): high risk of rips. RNLI: joins Perran Sands at low tide. RNLI news (July 2025): a flash rip can appear even in small, calm-looking surf, including between the flags. 2026 RNLI: daily 1 April–1 November, 10am–6pm.
