The beach
Harlyn
Harlyn sits on the Trevose run. Swell, wind and tide for this beach and the neighbours, so you can pick a peak before you leave the car park. Today is Clear, 12°, 3kt W, gusts 5.
North-facing beginner bay. Soft, sheltered, and one of the best learner waves in the west when a north swell is in.
Check Constantine and Booby’s around the headland if Harlyn is too small or too packed.
Faces N. Best swell WNW-NE. Level: beginner. Crowd: busy.

Parking
Harlyn is not on Cornwall Council’s Padstow car-park list, and St Merryn Parish Council lists Constantine rather than Harlyn as its car park. Pay on the board at the beach park.

Harlyn Surf School has been on Harlyn Bay since 1994, hire and lessons on this beach.
Vibe
Family and beginner. The school calls it the closest school to Padstow on the safest beginner beach, families, first-timers and returning surfers, with rock pools for whoever is not surfing.
Access & hazards
Met Office Harlyn Bay (Beach): high risk of rips. The school: sheltered, often more manageable than nearby beaches. RNLI 2026 lists include Harlyn (Easter and daily from 2 May).
