The beach
Llangennith
Llangennith sits on the Gower run. Swell, wind and tide for this beach and the neighbours, so you can pick a peak before you leave the car park. Today is cloud, 15°, 2kt NNE.
The Gower’s main beach break. Consistent, spacious, and the first place to look when a west swell is running.
Hillend is the surf access. Rhossili is the same bay. A longer walk to a quieter end.
Faces W. Best swell SW–WNW. Level: all. Crowd: average.

Parking
Day parking is the private beach car park at Hillend Caravan & Camping Park (SA3 1JD), about 200 m through the dunes. Hillend says the beach park opens from 8am; the current day rate is posted at the gate.
Hire & lessons
PJ’s Surf Shop is in Llangennith village, about a mile from Hillend, hire currently listed at pjsurfshop.com. Progress Surf School runs lessons at Llangennith, including a Sunday Grom Squad.
Vibe
Hot Dog Surf Shop: one of Wales’ most famous surf beaches, consistent swell, waves for all abilities. Progress: beginners, families, improvers, and a Grom Squad. PJ’s is a competitive-family shop (Pete and James Jones), not a groms-only beach.
Access & hazards
Llangennith is not on Swansea Council’s 2026 RNLI patrol list (Langland and Caswell only). Treat it as unguarded water.
